French language: Silent readings, understanding. Poetries on animals and celebrations – Affirmative and negative forms, Noun and Verb, plural agreements between Verb and Subject, Agreements inside the nominal group, use of dictionary, reading and understanding of nonfiction texts, documents, creative writing of such texts. Maths : Problem solving, natural numbers (order), addition and multiplication tables, multiply by 10, 100, 1000, mental calculation – Work on grids, segments, perpendiculars, parallels – Measuring lengths and time. International Day of Children’s Rights. History : Prehistoric times, first tools, mastery of fire, artists and farmers. Geography: Earth in space, continents and oceans, various environments. English:While all of the other routines and skills put into place since September will continue to be worked on , there will be more focus on reading and writing.
Reading- Students will be required to choose a novel and periodically write journal responses.
Writing- Students will write a story using the techniques and conventions that have been taught. Library: use the Dewey system to research books about animals. Develop paragraph writing using animal books as a spring board. Develop a list of enumerative words. Use online Encyclopaedias to research animals. In English we will introduce Add-on stories as a type of narrative Music: Part singing; s m l written on staff Physical Education: hand ball and soccer
